Āgāsh Deev | آگاش دیو

آگاش دیو دیو شورچشمی است که مردم را چشم می‌زند و نام او به معنای «نگاه و نظر بد» است. «آگاش دیو» مردم را تشویق می‌کند که هنگام روبروشدن با رویدادها و چیزهای نیکو از خدا یاد نکنند. در کتاب بندهش نام او در شمار دیوان آمده است.

این نام در پارسی میانه agāš و در اوستایی -ağašay آمده است و معنای «دارای چشم بد» می‌دهد.

"Agash, the Deev, is named in ancient Iranian texts including, the Bundaheshn, and his name is associated with 'evil eye' and bad thoughts about others. Agash Deev makes people forget good thoughts and instead dwell on the bad. Not much more is known about this Deev.

This name is found in Middle Persian as ağaşay and in Avestan -ağašay and it means having an evil eye."
