در روایاتی از میان مردمان استان کهگیلویه و بویراحمد موجودی به نام «ایم اویی» بوده که در آب زندگی می‌کرده که برخی دلیل بر غرق شدن مردم در رودخانه یا حوض می‌دانستند. این موجود به شکل انسانی تصور می‌شده که از آب تشکیل شده است.
امروزه برخی معتقدند که پیدایش این باور به دلیل وجود حفره های مکنده در رودخانه ها بوده.

According to some tales told by the people of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province (southwestern Iran), there used to be a creature named 'Eem-oui'. Eem-oui was an aquatic creature. It lived in the water and looked like a human but was made out of water. It is said that this creature was the reason behind people drowning in the rivers and pools.
