《نی نی خمخمو》 نام موجودی افسانه‌ای است که نامش در میان مردم ارومیه شنیده شده است. بر اساس این افسانه، 《نی‌نی خمخمو》 شب‌ها پشت در خانه‌هایی که در آن نوزادی وجود داشته می‌آمده و پس از مطمئن شدن از خواب بودن والدین، درِ خانه را باز می‌کند. پس از آن، بچه‌هایی که همراه 《نی‌نی خمخمو》 هستند وارد شده و نوزاد خانه را می‌دزدند.

Nini khomkhomu is the name of a fabled creature heard among the people of Orumieh (A city in West Azerbaijan Province of Iran). According to this folk story, Nini Khomkhomu comes at the doors of families with newborns. After making sure the parents were asleep, it opened the door to their houses. Then it’d order the children accompanying it to enter the houses and steal the babies. (!)
