تهمورث پسر هوشنگه که سی سال بر هفت کشور حکومت می‌کنه. در ابتدای پادشاهیش بسیاری از حیوانات رو رام انسان می‌کنه و دستور می‌ده پشم گوسفندا رو بزنن و ریسندگی اینطوری بوجود اومد. از این کارهای تهمورث همه در شگفت می‌مونن. بعد با وزیرش شهرسپ که مردی پاک‌فطرت و دین‌دار بوده همنشین می‌شه و در نتیجه‌ی این همنشینی، تهمورث مردی بسیار پاک و درستکار می‌شه و فر یزدی ازش می‌تابه. سپس اهریمن رو گیر می‌اندازه. این اتفاق دیوها رو عصبانی می‌کنه و باعث می‌شه تا ازش سرپیچی کنن. خبر سرپیچی دیوها که به تهمورث می‌رسه به جنگشون می‌ره. یک طرف لشکر دیوان به فرماندهی دیو سیاه، پسر اهریمن، و طرف دیگر للشکر تهمورث. این جنگ زیاد طول نمی‌کشه و طی اون بسیاری از دیوها کشته می‌شن و خیلیاشون اسیر می‌شن. دیوهای اسیرشده به تهمورث پیشنهاد می‌دن که اگه ما رو زنده بذاری بهت یک هنر جدید یاد می‌دیم. تهمورث به اونها امون داد و دیوها به تهمورث دیوبند سی زبان از جمله رومی و تازی و پارسی و سغدی و چینی و پهلوی یاد دادند

Tahmures is Hushang's son. He ruled over seven countries for thirty years. At the beginning of his reign, he tamed many animals for humans and ordered people to shear sheep. Therefore, wool spinning was invented. Everyone was amazed by his actions. Tahmures was accompanied by his vizier, Shahrasp, who was a devout nobleman. As a result of this companionship, Tahmures became a single-hearted person and beamed with divine glory(Khvarenah). Then, he captivated Ahriman. Ahriman's captivation irritated demons and made them rebel against him. When Tahmures heard of their rebellion, he gathered an army and went to battle against them. On one side of the battlefield, Ahriman's son, the dark demon stood with his army, and Tahmures on the other side with his. This battle didn't last long, and many demons were killed and captured during the course of it. Captivated demons told Tahmures that if he spared them, they would teach him new mysteries and arts. Tahmures the demon slaver spared their lives, and in return, they taught him thirty languages including Roman, Arabic, Persian, Sogdian, Chinese, and Pahlavi.

Empty once he was, of wickedness
He shone with the divine shininess

To the devil he galoped on his fast steed
Took him captive with a magical deed

The battle with the Div, the glorious fight
At once it began, shortly finished by might
A dozen of them, he captured with charm
All others slayed, by the club in his arm
